Laguna Beach Sunset

Wed

Woke up early again--went on the bus again to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Warf...the people in SF were so nice!! People were helpful with directions and pleasant to talk with! We had cooler temps and light rain but it wasn't anything that got in the way of our day!
The Pier was neat..saw all of the sea lions..very cute!! Then we went onto the Warf..went to the Boudin sourdough bread museum and tour. Have to say I was pretty dissapointed in the sourdough! I think the stuff Farrel Family Bakery makes here is better! We had the important clam chowder in a bread bowl and looked around shops. We went to the Maritime museum. Very interesting, Noah loved the exhibit on radio communication..it is connected to a Senior Center and some of the folks from the center go out and swim in the bay!! 50 degree water! Great way to keep in shape though! Then we went on to Ghiradelli square..looked around at shops and had some free chocloate : )
Then we took a VERY crowded bus ride back to the hotel. A lot of kids take the city buses home from school and the bus was JAMMED!! Got the car and headed on to Lombard street--the kids loved that!!! Drove down it and didn't hit the curbs!!
Then we went to Coit tower--beautiful!! Went up to the top and got a great 360 view of the city--great artwork in the tower itself also..then we went to the Whole Foods and got dinner to take back to the room..had a very full day so went to sleep early so we could see more tomorrow too!!

Tues

Up very early--4 AM!! Wanted to miss the traffic to SF--and didn't really hit any until Oakland! The ride was good--took the 5--the 1 would have been pretty but we didn't want to spend that many extra hours in the car.
On the way to SF--about 1/2 hour outside there are amazing windmills in the really lush green hills--with cows all over!! Very neat looking--went in over the Oakland bridge--easily found our hotel in Japantown, so neat! A big pagoda across the street and a whole Japanese mall!
We got settled in and then took the bus to Chinatown--walked all over--such a neat place!! Then we went to the cable car museum(didn't ride one--it was $5 a person!) saw the history of the cars and the big belt drive..then we walked up and down Nob Hill--geesh!!! Of course in my gracefullness I tripped and wiped out--my knee still smarts!! Then we went over to the Japanese mall--really interesting stuff..got some Origami supplies--we had a yummy Thai dinner and then konked out!

Mon--

LEGO LAND!!! We drove down to San Diego early in the morning for Lego Land--very cool!! Noah loved it! There were rides and mini cities--just tons to see...Tim's Mom drove down Andrea at noon and she spent the rest of the day with us, when the museum closed we drove to San Diego and ate dinner..

Sun

Went to service at Tim's Dad's church-very nice! All of the people there really like him! Then we went on to LA to the Museum of Tolerance--awesome exhibits on civil rights around the world and a very extensive Holocaust exhibit. You are given the name of a Jewish child and then as you go through the museum you put in a card and see what has happened to them. Very worth seeing!! Then we went to Tim's Moms for dinner and hung out with the family.
